ByteCode Monitoring¶
24/7 endpoint and infrastructure monitoring, built on Wazuh and backed by ByteCode's own security operations team — file integrity monitoring, host intrusion detection, log analysis, and vulnerability detection, with a human analyst on top of the alerts.
This is a separate, opt-in add-on to the detection services already included in your plan (HIBP, GitHub/GitLab secret scanning, Pastebin, ransomware leak sites, etc. — see Detection Services).
Requesting monitoring¶
Open Monitoring → ByteCode Monitoring from the main navigation.
- Read through what's included, then click Connect Monitoring.
- Optionally add a note about your environment (fleet size, on-prem / cloud / hybrid, urgency).
- Click Send request. Our team gets back to you within one business day to scope the setup, or email
partnership@bytecode.teamdirectly at any time.
Once your monitoring is live¶
After ByteCode's team finishes onboarding your environment, the same Monitoring page turns into your monthly workspace — a list of months, newest first. Each month card shows:
- how many tasks are planned for that month;
- how many security reports have been published for that month.
Click any month to open its detail page.
The monthly page¶
Each month has two sections:
Tasks¶
The task board you and the ByteCode team share for that month. Columns:
- Task — the task title (click to open the source in Notion).
- Owner — the person on the ByteCode team responsible for it.
- Repository — which of your code repositories the task touches (if any).
- Est h — estimated hours to complete.
- Status — current stage (Todo / In progress / In review / Done, colour-coded).
Total estimated hours for the month are shown next to the table title.
Tasks are the source of truth in Notion — our SOC team plans and updates the board there, and the portal syncs the current state automatically every 15 minutes. Admins can also click Sync tasks now at the top of the Monitoring page to pull the latest state immediately (e.g. after a status change you want to see reflected right away).
Under the hood the sync is incremental — it only pulls Notion rows edited since the last sync, so the cron finishes in a second even on large boards. A full sync (which also archives rows removed from Notion) runs once a day and every time you click Sync tasks now.
Timeline¶
A Gantt-style overview of the month's tasks: each task appears as a horizontal bar spanning its start and end dates. Sorted by start date, so the earliest work is at the top.
- Colours reflect status. Todo — grey, In progress — blue, In review — amber, Done — green. Read the state of the month at a glance.
- Zoom controls (
− / +/ Reset) — change the pixel width per day. Zoom out to see the whole month at once, zoom in for day-by-day detail. As you zoom in, more day numbers appear on the ruler. - Horizontal scroll kicks in at higher zoom levels.
- Click a bar to open the task in Notion.
- The zoom level is remembered per browser.
Tasks show up on the timeline only if they have a start/end date filled in on the Notion board. Everything else still lives in the Tasks table above.
Reports¶
All security reports published for that month, newest first. Multiple reports per month are supported — for example, a mid-month update plus an end-of-month summary. Each entry shows the report title and publication date; click it to open the full write-up on the platform.
Reports typically cover findings from the monitoring period, notable incidents, and the health of your monitored fleet.
What Employees see¶
Employees in your organization (see Roles and Permissions) can browse the same Monitoring tab and open month pages / reports. Task board and reports are read-only for everyone on the portal — the only writeable side is the Notion workspace, which is managed by the ByteCode team.
Only Admins see the Sync tasks now button.
Privacy¶
Reports and tasks are scoped strictly to your own organization — nothing is shared across clients. Only members of your organization can see them.
